Anonymous Beloved explores the perspectives of the partner of an addict. It is a musical journal devoted to coming to terms with the devastating experience of losing someone to their addiction, and not knowing if they will ever have the strength to emerge from that sickness. People around them don’t seem to care, lack the strength to confront the truth, or simply drag them down from a place of their own addiction. Having to watch this – even from a distance – is heart-wrenching. These songs chronicle a messy and imperfect journey, isolating and heavy and even absurd; there are more questions, than answers. It weaves together both the beautiful and poignant, and the trashy and harsh. You will find anger, loss, incomprehension, despair, and sadness. You will also find love, compassion, hope, and strength.
