"No cotton wool whatsoever.
As soon as she starts, your face is up against the wall."

Gordon Taylor, Infectious Unease Radio

"The music is very alternative, but even an
old mainstreamer like me found pieces to enjoy...
my stand out was easily Talie Helene’s own offering,
titled The Black Queen. Hypnotic.
I'm looking forward to the EP's release."

Benefit Gig for Andy Prior

by admin ~ May 20th, 2008. Filed under: Events.

Five wicked Melbourne metal bands are donating their time and talent to raise money to assist Andy Prior with his expenses, as he goes through chemotherapy treatment for recently diagnosed leukemia.

Andy has made a notable contribution over many years to the local metal scene, performing as guitarist with Darkest Dawn, Clauz, Kandy Flip, and Far From Over. Now the scene – fellow musicians and punters alike – can give something back; it’s a chance for Andy’s friends to help out in a material way, as well as providing emotional support.

This gig marks Darkest Dawn’s swan song performance – last chance – it’ll never come again. It’s also just a great afternoon of metal; Scott Young is filling his own shoes as special guest with Alarum, in their first show in twelve months. Five Star Prison Cell are hot off their recent support for Dillinger Escape Plan; Terrorust grind ferociously with unrivaled pedigree; Belakor warm things up with lushly listenable textures and folk-metal melodies.
